Inside the barrel are serrations which provide maximum contact and tensile strength after crimping. The wire barrel is surrounded with copper sleeve which provides improved wire insulation support and prevents fraying. An outer colour coded nylon sleeve aids wire size identification and a funnelled entry prevents turned back wire strands allowing fast wire insertion during high-speed production. The construction of these PIDG terminals and the *** of specialised tool dies allows a uniform and reliable crimp to be produced.
