• The Ostwald viscometer is a viscometer ***d for comparative measurements. Use a pipette or the like to insert a liquid sample in the range of 5~8 mL (constant volume) into the lower spherical part shown on the right. Soak the viscometer in a constant temperature water bath for the viscometer up to the upper part of the mark A. After the liquid sample is sucked up to the top of the mark A, it is allowed to flow down naturally, and the time taken for the liquid sample of the volume from the mark A to B to flow down the capillary is measured. Use the same method to measure a standard liquid of known viscosity, but make sure that the volume of the liquid in the lower sphere is the same. It ranges from No. 1 to No. 6 dep***ing on the capillary diameter. Relative viscometer for comparative measurement. The volume of the sphere is about 3 mL.
