• RS Pro Type J, K and Type T Fine Wire Temperature Detection Thermocouple Series conforms to IEC-584-3 standards with Class 1 tolerances for optimal performance. This Type K and Type T fine wire temperature sensor comes with a single 1/0.2 mm lead from the durable Teflon PTFE insulation class. This lead is terminated by a miniature flat pin plug that can be rewired for quick and easy connection. The thermocouple has exposed welding contacts that allow it to operate with a short response time.
• How Thermocouples Work • Thermocouples are sensors ***d for temperature measurement in a wide variety of processes. Two wire legs made of different metals are brought into contact at two points to form two contacts. Thermal contacts (temperature measurement contacts) are connected to the body to be measured. Cold contacts (reference contacts) are connected to bodies of known temperature. When a temperature measuring contact is placed on a heat source, a voltage difference or potential difference occurs between the contact and the reference contact. This voltage is converted to a temperature measurement using the thermocouple reference table. This process is also known as the Seebeck effect.
• The exposed contact points are the places where the thermocouple wires are welded to each other and are not covered by external coating. Both ***s of this wire are inserted directly into the process. This means that the thermocouple has a high sensitivity and a short response time. Weld tip exposed contacts are susceptible to corrosion, so it is recomm***ed to measure the temperature of non-corrosive flowing or stationary gas.
